Doc Studio — Online Word Processor
About Doc Studio
A free online word processor that works like Word in your browser. Open existing .docx files, write with fonts, sizes, colours, highlights, headings, lists, checklists, tables, images, links, superscript and subscript, and control line spacing, indents, page size (A4 or Letter), margins and page breaks. Start from templates for letters, resumes, reports, meeting notes and proposals, keep several documents in "My documents", find and replace text, and download as Word (.docx), PDF, Markdown, HTML or plain text.
This tool works in your browser: the files and text you use are processed on your device and are not uploaded.
How to use it
- Pick a template with New, open a .docx file with Open, or just start typing.
- Format text from the toolbar — style, font, size, colour, alignment, spacing, lists and indents.
- Insert tables, images and page breaks (Ctrl+Enter); use Ctrl+F to find and replace.
- Download as Word, PDF, Markdown, HTML or text when you are done.
Frequently asked questions
Can I open and edit Word documents?
Yes. Open any .docx file and Doc Studio keeps its headings, bold/italic/underline, colours, fonts and sizes, lists, tables, images, links, alignment, line spacing and page breaks. Older .doc files (Word 97–2003) need to be saved as .docx first.
Will my document look the same in Microsoft Word?
Downloading as .docx writes a real Word file with your text styles, fonts, sizes, lists, tables, images, line spacing, indents, page breaks, page size and margins. Very complex layouts such as text boxes or columns are not supported.
How do I save as PDF?
Choose Download → PDF. Your browser’s print dialog opens with only the document on the page — pick “Save as PDF” as the destination. The page size and margins you chose are applied, and page breaks start new pages.
Where are my documents saved?
In this browser’s local storage, under My documents. Nothing is uploaded to a server, so your writing stays private — but it also means documents don’t sync between devices. Download a copy to back it up or move it.
Are there keyboard shortcuts?
Yes: Ctrl+B / I / U for bold, italic and underline, Ctrl+. and Ctrl+, for superscript and subscript, Ctrl+Enter for a page break, Ctrl+] and Ctrl+[ to indent, Ctrl+F to find, Ctrl+H to replace, and Ctrl+Z / Ctrl+Y to undo and redo.
