UUID Generator

About the UUID Generator

Generate cryptographically-secure version-4 UUIDs (universally unique identifiers) in bulk — up to 50 at a time — and copy them individually or all at once. UUIDs are produced locally using your browser’s secure random source, so they are never transmitted or logged.

This tool works in your browser: the files and text you use are processed on your device and are not uploaded.

How to use it

  1. Choose how many UUIDs you need.
  2. Click Generate.
  3. Copy a single UUID or all of them at once.

Frequently asked questions

What is a version-4 UUID?

A v4 UUID is a 128-bit identifier whose bits are almost entirely random, formatted as 32 hex digits in the pattern 8-4-4-4-12. The version (4) and variant bits are fixed; the rest is random.

Are these UUIDs guaranteed to be unique?

Not mathematically guaranteed, but collisions are astronomically unlikely — you would need to generate billions of UUIDs before the chance of a duplicate becomes meaningful. For practical purposes they are unique.

Are the UUIDs cryptographically secure?

Yes. They come from the browser’s crypto.randomUUID / getRandomValues, a cryptographically secure random source — not Math.random — so they are suitable for identifiers where unpredictability matters.

What are UUIDs used for?

They label things that must be unique without a central authority: database primary keys, API request IDs, file names, session tokens, and distributed-system records that are created on many machines at once.
