Glassmorphism CSS Generator
About the Glassmorphism CSS Generator
Design frosted-glass UI effects visually and copy the ready-to-use CSS. Adjust blur, transparency, colour, and border, preview the result live, then paste the generated code into your project. Glassmorphism layers a translucent, blurred surface over a background to create depth — popular in modern dashboards, cards, and login panels.
This tool works in your browser: the files and text you use are processed on your device and are not uploaded.
How to use it
- Adjust the blur, transparency, colour, and border sliders.
- Watch the live preview update.
- Copy the generated CSS into your stylesheet.
Frequently asked questions
Which CSS property creates the frosted-glass blur?
The key is backdrop-filter: blur(...), which blurs whatever sits behind the element, combined with a semi-transparent rgba() background. The generator also emits the -webkit-backdrop-filter prefix for Safari support.
Does glassmorphism work in all browsers?
backdrop-filter is supported in current Chrome, Edge, Firefox, and Safari (with the -webkit- prefix). In browsers that lack it, the element still shows its semi-transparent background — just without the blur — so it degrades gracefully.
Why does the glass effect look invisible?
backdrop-filter only blurs content behind the element, so it needs a colourful or textured background to show up. Over a plain white page there is nothing to blur and the effect appears to do nothing.
Is glassmorphism accessible?
It can reduce text contrast against busy backgrounds. Keep transparency moderate, add a subtle solid layer behind text, and check contrast ratios so content stays readable for everyone.
