XML Sitemap Generator

About the XML Sitemap Generator

Build a valid XML sitemap for your website by entering your domain and the paths you want indexed. The tool outputs a standards-compliant sitemap.xml with each URL, a last-modified date and a priority value, ready to submit to search engines. You can copy the XML or download the file directly.

This tool works in your browser: the files and text you use are processed on your device and are not uploaded.

How to use it

  1. Enter your base domain (for example https://yoursite.com).
  2. Add each path you want listed (such as /, /about, /blog).
  3. Copy the generated XML or download sitemap.xml, then submit it to Google Search Console and Bing Webmaster Tools.

Frequently asked questions

What is an XML sitemap for?

It lists the pages you want search engines to discover and helps crawlers understand your site structure, which can improve how completely and quickly your pages are indexed.

What are the lastmod and priority values?

lastmod is set to today’s date for each URL, and priority hints at a page’s relative importance (the home page is given 1.0 and other pages 0.8). Search engines treat priority as a hint, not a command.

Where do I submit the sitemap?

Upload sitemap.xml to your site’s root and submit its URL in Google Search Console and Bing Webmaster Tools so the engines know where to find it.
